MIKE WATERS, Senior Pastor

Mike is a dedicated husband and father whose passion for the poor, specifically children in poverty, seems to guide his very being.  His love for God’s Word is evident in his teaching.

Mike was ordained by Legacy Baptist Church on March 30, 2014 and has served as the Associate pastor for ten years – on March 6^th, 2022 Mike stepped into the Senior Pastor role. 

Mike is married to Lori and has two beautiful daughters, Victoria and Abby.

DENNIS NIX, Executive Pastor

While Dennis enjoyed a career in business for 25 years – his true passion was serving in the local church.  Dennis was called into full-time ministry in 2000 (after a 25-year career in business) and began his seminary training.  He graduated from Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in July 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries.

Dennis served as Administrative Pastor at Riverside Baptist church for seven years and Shepherding Pastor for one year. In January of 2012, Dennis and his wife, Janie, felt led to plant a new work in Madison County.  It was his privilege to serve as founding pastor of Legacy Baptist where he served for ten years and will continue the ministry of Legacy Baptist as Executive Pastor.  With a passion for discipling and mentoring others he and Janie are looking forward to making much of Jesus through the ministry of Legacy Baptist.

KRISTIE SARTAIN, Treasurer

Kristie accepted the position of Legacy’s Treasurer effective January 1, 2020.  She has been an active member of Legacy for many years serving both on the Finance Team and the Media Team.  She is also known in our community for the “Sanford Diva” business of baking the most delicious desserts – along with other home-made specialty items.

Kristie is the Administrative Specialist for Business at Medical Partnership and is married to Jason, Engineering Manager at St. Mary’s Hospital System.  They have a son, Jacob, and daughter, Rebecca (“Becca”), both of whom are currently attending college.
